Osmometry

A Solution is a homogeneous mixture of solute and solvent where :

  • Solvent = the liquid component
  • Solute = the solid component, or liquid in lesser proportion

Osmometry is the measure of osmotic concentration -- the number of particles dissolved in a solvent, osmolality.

The Osmometers that we offer uses Freezing Point technique to determine osmolality. Some application are listed below :

  • Alcohol intoxication and Serum osmolality
  • Assisted Reproductive Technology
  • Concentration of body fluids
  • Quality control of standards and solutions
  • Measuring volumes of containers, tanks, kettles, pipets, human body, etc
  • Measuring the dialyzability of solute
  • Measurement of enzyme activity
  • Molecular weight determinations
  • Determination of water binding activity, etc.
