Osmometry
A Solution is a homogeneous mixture of solute and solvent where :
- Solvent = the liquid component
- Solute = the solid component, or liquid in lesser proportion
Osmometry is the measure of osmotic concentration -- the number of particles dissolved
in a solvent, osmolality.
The Osmometers that we offer uses Freezing Point technique to determine
osmolality. Some application are listed below :
- Alcohol intoxication and Serum osmolality
- Assisted Reproductive Technology
- Concentration of body fluids
- Quality control of standards and solutions
- Measuring volumes of containers, tanks, kettles, pipets, human body, etc
- Measuring the dialyzability of solute
- Measurement of enzyme activity
- Molecular weight determinations
- Determination of water binding activity, etc.
